Processing Facilities

Jade Tiger Abalone is a unique breed of Australian abalone and was the world’s first ASC certified sustainable source of abalone. Situated on the pristine coast of the Bellarine Peninsula, 100 kilometres from Melbourne, Jade Tiger Abalone is headquartered on our fully integrated aquaculture site.

It is Australia’s largest environmentally sustainable abalone aquaculture facility. Our sites are comprised of the hatchery, nursery, grow out and export facility. Covering ten hectares, including 400 grow out tanks with a surface area of 20,000 sqm, it can produce over 200Mt of abalone per year.

Our Locations

Operations have now expanded to include two additional sites. One at Avalon in Victoria produces 50mt per year and our newest site at Dunalley, on Tasmania’s rugged east coast, produces 150mt per year. Our total group production now stands at over 400mt per year of high-quality Australian abalone.

How Our Abalone are Grown

The abalone is grown in a sustainable and environmentally friendly manner. We are committed to protecting the natural resources of the regions.

All Jade Tiger Abalone is grown without the use of any antibiotics, growth hormones or other chemicals. Nurtured in the pristine waters of the Great Southern Ocean, Jade Tiger Abalone is fed by the cold, oxygenated and nutrient-rich waters that sweep up from the Antarctic. The product is distinct in appearance with a stunning jade green shell and tiger-striped foot. It is renowned for its sweet, tender, pearl-white flesh.

Our Products

Live Abalone

Jade Tiger Abalone specialises in the delivery of live abalone. Our Melbourne holding facility holds up to 10mt of live abalone that is ready to freight internationally upon request. Our live abalone has been directly shipped to cities across the world including Shanghai, Hong Kong & Taipei.

Canned Abalone

Jade Tiger Abalone is the only Australian abalone producer with an on-site canning facility. This gives us full control of product quality and traceability. The natural abalone flavour is preserved by using minimal processing aids while canning. Our canned range includes abalone in Brine and Superior Sauce.

Frozen Abalone

Our on-site brine freezing equipment allows us to individually quick freeze (IQF) our abalone. The abalone is frozen from live to ensure maximum flavour and freshness. We can produce IQF abalone whole-in-shell or meat only. Meat-only frozen packs are cleaned and ready to use for hotpot, braising & more.

Value Added Pouches

Abalone pouches are a popular product for gifting. They come in a charming gift box and are ready to be heated and enjoyed. Our abalone pouches are available in either brine or braised in our Superior Sauce.
